How will therapy help?
If you persistently feel low or anxious, or you have challenges in your life that threaten to overwhelm you, therapy can give you important tools to manage and help regain balance, and hopefully an appetite for the challenges life poses. Or just the insights to help ignite the healing process.
How long will it take?
Short cognitive behavioural therapy courses can be carried out in twelve sessions if there is one unwanted behavioural issue that you wish to tackle. This course does not aim to go deep, but will only result in change if you are committed to keeping a journal and practising the classic CBT challenges to your habitual thinking and behaviour styles. Working more deeply, therapy can last for months, years or for as long as feels right. We will discuss and agree the right therapy in our first session, and at reviews built in at regular intervals.
How much does it cost?
Fees range from £50 to £80 per 50-minute session. Couples may consult me at the higher rate of £120. For clients on a very low income or students, I offer a sliding scale fee structure.
Is it confidential?
Yes, unless you have serious intentions of harming your own person or someone else. If I have concerns, I will firstly make every effort to inform you of my concern and to gain agreement that you seek external help before my last resort, of breaching your confidentiality.
Contact me and I will be happy to answer further questions.
